Money | Quick Fixes To Help You Recover From A Money Shortage Emergency

Money | Quick Fixes To Help You Recover From A Money Shortage Emergency

Emergencies are part of life and a money shortage is an emergency that can happen to anyone following a job loss, sickness, robbery, accident etc.

When you are desperate to raise emergency funds, it usually doesn't take very long for you to realize who can help you out and who can't.

Sometimes, those you thought might be able to help might not be able to because they are going through their own hurdles.

This is why it is important for you to know some ways in which you can be able to raise emergency funds and incase you ever find yourself in a tight spot.

Here are some ways in which you can be able to acquire emergency funds in case you run out of money.

1. Call Your Community Emergency Helpline
If you are living in the USA, call 211 to find out what local resources they might have available in your zip code. If you live in another country, use and call the local community service to see how they might be able to help you.

2. Social Services
Call or visit the social services organization in your area to see what help they might be able to offer. Often times, social services might be able to help with food assistance, cash aid, jobs, rental assistance, medical assistance etc.

3. Contact your credit card issuers

The first thing you want to do is prioritize getting back on track very quickly. If that means letting your credit card bill go for a bit, so be it.

As soon as you realize that you have a money emergency, contact your credit card issuers and request reduced interest rates and payments.

4. Check With Non-profit organizations

Search online and email or call up Non-profits, both local and national to find out if any of might have funds and resources for those in needs. Many non-profit organizations provide services like food, fuel, shelter rental assistance etc to those in need, so try and check them out.

5. Request A Payment Extension On Your Car Loan

For your car payment, call the creditor and request a payment extension. Perhaps you hate payment extensions, because they require a fee and you still have to make the payment at the end of the contract.

In this case, a payment extension can allow you a little breathing room as it helps you to recover during your money emergency. Expect that you will likely have to pay a fee (usually about 1/3 the car payment amount) for the extension. Freeing up the money you need today is your first and only goal at this point.

6. Request A Payment Extension On Your Mortgage

Check to see if your mortgage holder will allow an extension for a nominal fee. Do this immediately as it will save you a lot.

7. Host A Yard Sale

Another quick fix, is to host an on the spot yard sale. You don't have too much time for planning, so do a quick survey of your personal belongings. Come up with clothes that no longer fit, but that are in good condition, knick-knacks, dishes, and books as well as stuff you bought but no longer use.

Throw all the goods quickly together, and then try to put up notices regarding the sale.

You can place the yard sale notices at laundry mats and grocery stores around town.

Don't forget to place a yard sale sign at the end of your driveway. This way, you can make a quick $300 with very little time and effort.

8. Look For Radio Swap Shows

If you have a larger item to sell, call into local radio stations to see if they have a call in swap show on the weekends. This is a very popular way to quickly convert gently used and more expensive items for fast cash.

9. Ask Your Utility Company To Set You Up On A Budget Plan

Another quick option concerns utility and telephone bills. If you are already on a budget plan, ask that the current bill (plus any previous balance you owe) be set up for a budget plan. Expect to pay a down payment. This way, all future bills (while on the back payment budget plan) will be kept current.

The nice thing about this is that it is usually interest free, and can give you some much-needed breathing space for a month. You must be sure though that you maintain the regular utility payments and the budget payments in the coming month.

10. Seek Help From Your Religious Organization

Check with your family religious organization regarding emergency help. Local religious organizations can be one of the best places to find out what is available in the community to help those in need, or in times of emergency.

11. Getting Fast Cash Through Borrowing

If you are absolutely, positively, in a bind, a real cash emergency, and you have exhausted all of the above, then consider borrowing. First, ask your family, then your local bank.

As a last resort, you may want to consider what is known as a Payday Loan. These types of borrowing stores can be useful when all else fails.

Organize And Plan | How To Start Healing From Addiction To Clutter

Organize And Plan | How To Start Healing From Addiction To Clutter

One of my clients, called Martha told me that she was trying to help her sister, Elizabeth get back on her feet.

Unfortunately, Elizabeth, had recently been laid off from her job after suffering from an illnes. Elizabeth's house had always been a mess, but after the lay off it had become so filled with clutter that there was no place to walk or sit.

My client, Martha, had thus offered to buy her sister a car as a way to motivate her to clean her house. Martha, even went so far as to offer to help Elizabeth to clean up the house.

Martha was therefore quite shocked when her sister refused the offer, even though she desperately needed the car. Elizabeth was unwilling to get rid of her clutter.

Why Was The Clutter So Important To Elizabeth?

Underneath all addictions, lie feelings of fear, emptiness, helplessness, loneliness and aloneness.

Addictions are a way for the addict to feel safe from experiencing these difficult and painful feelings, and an addiction to clutter is no exception.

It's about having a sense of control over feelings of unsafety. Clutter, like all addictions, provides momentary feelings of comfort. However, as with any addiction, the clutterer needs more and more clutter to maintain the illusion of safety and comfort.

The Fear Of Not Having Enough

When my grandmother was moving house, my son offered to help clean out her house. However, while helping to clean and organize her house, he discovered that there were huge amounts of clutter in the house.

While my grandmother's house had a always looked neat and clean, what we didn't realize was that the cupboards and drawers in her house were filled with clutter. So, while cleaning, my son told me that he had found 6 broken hair dryers in just one of her cabinets.

So, Why Would My Grandmother Want To Keep Six Broken Hair Dryers?

My grandmother grew up during the great depression and always had a fear of not having enough. No matter how much she accumulated materially, she never felt that she could ever have enough. The six hair dryers made her feel safe from her fear, even if they didn't work.

Feeling Unsafe On The Innerside Affects How We Feel On The Outside

Katerina, has trouble throwing things away, especially magazines with important information in them. She subscribes to many magazines but, being the mother of three small children, she doesn't often have the time to read them all.

So the magazines pile up and pile up. Katerina, hopes at some point to have the time to read them, but that time never seems to come.

When asked why she won't throw some of the magazines out, her answer is, "because the magazines contain important information in them that I don't want to miss."

Katerina fear's missing out on some important piece of information, because having information gives her a feeling of safety from ignorance. It makes her feel safe and in control to have all the magazines around her with their important information, even if she never gets to read them.

When we don't feel safe on the inside, then we try to make ourselves feel safe on the outside, and clutter is one way of doing that.

Whether it's things, such as hair dryers, or information, such as in magazines and newspapers, clutterers do not trust that they will have what they need. In addition, clutterers may be resistant people who see messiness and clutter as a way of not being controlled by anyone who may want them to be neat.

Healing The Addiction To Clutter

Clutter is created and maintained by a wounded, frightened part of oneself.

The wounded self is the part that operates from the illusion of having control over people, events, and outcomes.

As long as this wounded self is in charge of decisions, the clutterer will continue to accumulate clutter as a way to provide comfort and the illusion of control over feeling safe, or continue to be messy as a way to resist being controlled.

Healing occurs when the individual does the inner work necessary to develop a strong, loving adult self.

A loving adult is the aspect of us that opens to and connects with a spiritual source of wisdom, strength, and love. A loving adult is capable of taking loving action on their own behalf.

The loving adult operates from truth rather than from the false beliefs of the wounded self, and knows that the comfort and safety that clutter seems to provide is an illusion that no matter how much clutter accumulates, the clutterer will still feel afraid.

The loving adult knows that safety and integrity do not lie in resistance. Only a loving adult who is tuned in to the guidance provided by a spiritual source and capable of taking loving actions on one's own behalf can create a sense of inner safety.

Online banking allows an individual to be able to access their bank at any time of the day or night.

With banking services online, someone can carry out transactions in their under garments if they so choose. And if you choose to do it that way, it's just as well since there are no lines to wait in for online banks.

Despite the convicence and ease of online banking, it is always important to stay safe while making transactions online.

Below is more information you will find useful as you carry out your transactions using online/internet banking.

A Smooth Sea Never Made A Skillful Sailor Daily Planner Journal - Printable Digital Book

1. Transactions performed online are generally much cheaper than those done over the counter at a bank branch. You can pay bills, transfer cash, check balances, and much more for much less.

2. An online savings account is something worth considering. The interest rates are usually higher and the fees are lower than traditional brick and mortar bank branches.

3. Your computer has convenient ways to help you remember your login details. But don't use the remember my password option if your computer suggests it. Keep your bank login details very safe and very secret.

4. Most online banks will allow you to change your password. This is a very good idea and something you should do regularly. Of course, you must also remember your new password each time it is changed.

5. Logging on to your online bank is easy and very convenient. But after you have completed your business, remember to log out of your online bank. This is especially important if you access your bank from a library, at work, or from a cyber cafe.

6. Enjoy your online banking, but beware of any email you receive asking you to verify your bank details by clicking a link. The site may look authentic, but it will probably be a fake. Respectable banks don't ask anyone to verify details by email.

Organize And Plan | How To Choose A Professional Organizer

Organize And Plan | How To Choose A Professional Organizer

As modern life progresses, I believe that time has become even more precious and has the capacity to increase our potential for finding opportunities.

Using a professional organizer allows you to maximize the  opportunities that life has to offer and to make the best use of your time.

The past decade has also seen life become increasingly sophisticated yet far less labor intensive for many people. If you want to get and stay ahead, it has become important to stay organized.

A professional organizer service or what I call 'efficiency service' is a great way to start and stay organized.

In this age and time, we find ourselves outsourcing more and more tasks in our homes to other people and companies, just as if our home life were a business.

The services provided by these individuals and companies make our life more efficient and that is why we use them. A few of the efficiency services that you probably use include:

- Delivery services

- Car wash

- Launderette

- Lawn maintenance

- Various home maintenance tasks

Etc.

As time has advanced, many of us find that we can afford to have  those chores taken care of by other people, thus leaving us with some spare time.

How we maximize that spare time to earn more money gives us an opportunity we shouldn't waste. And that is where professional organizers come into play.

Imagine what a professional organizer working for you could do for you personal organization.

As a professional organizer I consult with many people to organize everything in their life; That is to say that I help to organize goals, organize homes, organize time, etc.

With my expertise, I have chosen some core tips to help you choose a professional organizer that is also  suitable for you personal needs.

Choosing a professional organizer can be a cause for anxiety itself, which can defeat the point of organization services.

So below are some key insider tips from a professional organizer on how you can choose a good professional organizer who will be suitable for your own style and way of doing things.

1. Make a list of 10 or so professional organizers by doing a search online or in a phone directory. Contact them by phone or by email and let them know that you are contacting 9 other professional organizers to find the most suitable candidate. This approach will let your potential candidates for the assignment know that they can not 'hard sell' you.

2. Take a look at their website, read some of their articles, and read their reply email or hear them out by phone. Tell them you still have the other candidates to consider before you make your decision. A good professional organizer will approve of your organized approach.

On your check list you also need to score them on:

a. How interesting and thoughtful their products and services are.

b. How their email response made you feel.

c. How good they listened to you. This may seem strange but I believe the skill of listening is one of the most important skills that a good professional organizer should have. If the professional organizer can not fully and completely listen to everything you are about and where you are coming from they will never be able to take you to a level of personal organization that satisfies you.

The factors I have mentioned above  should give you enough information to be able to at least make a short list and might allow you to choose a professional organizer in no time at all.

Organize And Plan | Balancing Your Writing Career With Your Life

Organize And Plan | Balancing Your Writing Career With Your Life

Writing can be a very solitary task sometimes and is also an activity that often requires concentration, quiet and absolute commitment.

With all that being said, is it therefore possible to balance your writing career and family life without turning yourself into a workaholic?

Yes! It is totally possible. I am a living example of this and I will tell you what my secret to a successful writing career is. The secret is called, "TIME PLAN."

This is one of the most important steps for the aspiring writer's success. Without it, nothing can be achieved.

So, knowing all this, how can you create a great and achievable time plan?

Simply make a rough plan of the time allowed for your writing project daily. It is highly important for the writer to know exactly WHEN he /she is going to settle down to write. It is important for a writer to feel, free of other responsibilities so that he/she can concentrate on the work at hand.

I have made a simple schedule time plan I usually follow. I encourage you to create your own schedule according to your personal needs, your family's needs and your professional needs.

Every morning just after breakfast, and as soon as the family has gone off to do other things, I usually allow myself to work on my PC for one to two hours, depending on the day's  workload.

I then go on to do house chores and other family related tasks till noon. At about 2pm in the afternoon, everybody is usually back, so I will serve them lunch.

After that I have 2-3 hours free to work on my morning assignment. Thus, there is plenty of time to care for the family , while in the afternoons I still have time to go to my part time job in time , feeling satisfied I have worked at home on my project.

In the evening I sometimes find an hour or so , when the family watch TV . This time I sit with them in the living room , having pre arranged to do the easiest tasks for my writing job, such as note taking or layout planning of new stories or articles. I use pen to paper and I don't bother if I make mistakes. Next morning, there is plenty of time to revise them and complete them.

If this plan has been working perfectly for me, why not for you as well?
You only have to calculate when and how long you need to write every day. Of course , you must stick to your plan and never give it up , apart from very urgent cases. Remember that your work is also urgent, so never skip it.

If you respect your writing job, the others will do so too. What is more, they won't feel neglected as you will give them your care and attention at the time they are around. Furthermore, your house chores will be done in time and you won't feel overworked.

Many a times I used to end up with half burned meals and I felt extremely stressed trying to catch up with all the house chores before the family was back home. So, telling yourself ëIíll do it laterí, itís not the solution. ëLaterí will come in no time and you will find yourself in a very difficult situation.

Yet, no one will believe your excuses as you have been in the house the whole morning , and you will feel inefficient for no reason at all! "A little every day" is my motto, and, in the long run, everything is done and everybody is happy. Keeping your writing and family under control will make you feel satisfied and everyone, including you, will be happy.

Also, keep in mind that there is nothing odd if you work in unconventional places.
I sometimes find it stimulating to work in the living room with all the family around. Noise does not bother me, on the contrary, it brings me more ideas.

This article was outlined last evening while we were all watching a football match. Well, the truth is I did not watch much of it! I was absorbed in my new article, but that's how this idea sprang out. I can perfectly work in a chatty setting. Have you tried it? You may come up with fresh ideas and great articles.

Finally, who says that writing can turn you into a zombie? Shatter the myth! It's up to you to enjoy both your family and your writing career. Simply make a time plan!
